Back in the game, just bought another FB
The car is going to be in next month's Grassroot Motorsports, it's kind of an abomination since it has an engine from a BMW but the shell is all Mazda. The last time I had an FB was a few years ago and I got jacked when building another FB so I was kind of put off on the car building game for a bit.
But now I have the bug again and instead of going the turbo route this car seemed kind of neat and had a lot of work done to it already. Can't wait to see the article next month since the motor swap was done VERY cleanly, damn it feels good to be back in a little Mazda again!!
Edit: A drunk guy walked by and saw me reading on the forum and was talking some stupid crap asking how much power and how fast my car is, the highlight was that he drives a mustang which is said "is a 12-second car.........stock". Awesome, reading the forum in a pool hall makes for some funny situations.

Your Arch Enemy
Sounds like a great project, do we get a sneak peek at pics before the masses from Grassroots?
With the drunk, that is a real coincidence. I have a 20 second fb. Stock.

I didn't get to see the car since I was the only employee not at the challenge. It should be in the challenge coverage but I am not sure if we a doing a full write up on the car. In other notes my RX-7 will be in the Dec issue comparing it vs. a 240Z.
I didn't know they were selling the car. Do you mind me asking what type of deal did you get it for? From the pictures I saw it was very clean. I was sorry to hear about their wheel/tire failure on the AutoX though.

Yeah it put a dent in the FL fender, not a big deal though it's not the paint and body that I was concerned with mostly on that car. Even if it doesn't get an article to itself at least it has some mention which is cool and I get to learn more about the car than if I bought it from Joe Bozo down the street.
Jeremy is cool as hell and the work he does is very clean, it looks like a couple of pictures I have seen of BMW engine bays you can't tell it's a motor swap for the most part. I paid $2700 for the car even though I know it was a $2008 challenge, he put more time and effort into the car to make it pretty after the challenge though which is worth it to me. It's great that you were involved in the magazine thing at all I bet working there is pretty cool.
For example, the engine bay doesn't look much different from this BMW picture (missing the nice turbo though), will try to post some pictures on Monday when I get back from Gainesville.
