Altitude compensator removal

Altitude compensator removal

1980. I searched and searched for information about altitude compensator valve removal, and they look much different from what I have. This is what I got below. It threads into the manifold and then a tube connect it to the carb. Can I remove it and put in a plug on both the intake manifold and the carb where it connected? Thanks!
