1st Gen in Dec Grassroots Motorsports Magazine

I also posted this in the lounge but I know that some of you don't venture there. Hopefully the mods won't delete this since I work for the magazine. Look at my sig and my post count I am not a troll.

My 1984 RX-7 is featured in this the Dec Grassroots Motorsports Magazine which should hit shelves Nov 18th. It features a faces off of my modified 84 RX-7 vs. my boss's modified Datsun 240Z. You can pick up the magazine at any Barnes and Noble or Borders or just call in and ask for Greg. Subscriptions are $19.95 for a year and I will mail this first one out to you if you say you are from the RX-7 club. I also attached a low res photo from the test day of my car.

Also we just posted our 2nd gen buyers guide on our website. http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/articles/lucky-7/

The other top stories featured will be:

- Budget Supercars: How to buy a Ferrari, Porsche or Corvette for less than a new Accord.

- 25 People Who Defined the Last 25 Years: The December issue kicks off our 25th year of publishing GRM. We're starting the celebration by picking the 25 standout personal achievements that shaped our motorsports world.

- Nissan GT-R: Hold on tight, we're testing Nissan's new supercar.

-Starting a Rebuilt Engine: How to bring your rebuilt engine back to life the right way.

-Project Cars: BMW 335i, Spec E30 and Dodge Neon ACR

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks guys,

Greg

Just read the entire article. I was finally happy to see the 1st Gen RX-7 get some McLoving from Grassroots Motorsport Magazine. You guys should publish a 1st gen buyers guide too.

Hey guys. We had a first gen project back in the early 90's. It is doubtful that we will do a buyers guide for them. As much as I love them (I own three) they are getting past their prime for competitive race cars. Grassroots generally focus on cars present - 20 years old especially for buyers guides. Generally rule for first gens would be to get the best you can afford I would say.

The good news is that the first gens will still be raced and have a precense in both of our magazines. My 79 (Kgray's) old car will be in a upcoming Classic Motorsports. I flew out to KC and drove it the 1,300 miles back home. It will be my daily driver cruiser whereas the GSL-SE is the autox and track day car.

hi Greg
nice feature on the rx7/240 z. I've been racing rx7's in solo for about 10 years now. I start with a stock 85 gsl-se silver with maroon cloth int . no power streering. I'm now running a 79 base in F prepared. I've been building this car for about 8 years.
