best 0-60 time i've seen published for an 84 GSL-SE is 7.8 secs. a V8 Mustang will do 0-60 in 7.0 secs. top speed of the SE is 125mph and the top speed of the 5.0 is roughly 130mph. short answer is the Mustang will out accelerate the SE. around the corners may be a different story, but straight line performance goes to the 5.0.

when it comes to racing yeah the car matters, but not as much as the driver, you can have the best, fastest car in the world but if you're a shitty drive, a dude in a kia will beat you.

the article was mistaken. Mazda published a 0-60 time of 8.0 secs for the SE. it would have to be a turbo SE. the 87-99 T2 did 0-60 in 6.7 published seconds and it weighed 2850lbs and had 182hp. the SE weighs just over 2500lbs and has 135hp.
