OR 1981 Mazda RX_7

Hello People!

I am currently in possession of a 1981 Mazda RX-7 with unknown details.
I am an hour drive from where it is in a garage.
The body seems to be in good shape. I have not yet looked inside the car
It has been garaged for a least a decade.
I am interested in selling it but I have no idea of the value.
How much time, effort and money should I put into the car to get the best value?
Where can I find expert help?
Thanks

The cars value will vary greatly depending on its milage and condition. So, until you can put eye's and hands on the car to give it a proper evaluation, any number put on it, is just a speculative guess. In general terms, the nicest cars of this generation have been topping out in the low to mid teens for a few years now.

Exceptional examples and ultra low mile cars can fetch more. I'd tend to put money at area's that need it the most, to get it running and / or looking good. Basically there is no end to how much you can spend, the trick is, to not spend too much, so that along with your initial investment, you don't get too far under water (above what you could ultimately sell it for). It's the same formula that applies to all used cars.

Whatever you decide - please sell it to someone who cares about these cars. While Mazda imported over 1/2 a million of them, very few are even out there and being driven around on a regular basis. If the one OP has is in any kind of restorable condition, or original parts and paint - it's worth good $$$ to someone who knows what it is, and is willing to put the effort into owning it. Good luck,

You've found the expert help by posting here. Congrats. Now give us pics and details about its condition. Does it run? Do all the accessories function? Has it always been garaged? Mileage?

Minimally you will need to get it running and clean it up exterior and interior. You may need to do more depending on condition.
