Original Owner 79 SA
I purchase this car new in May of 1979, my first "NEW" car. I auto crossed the car and in 1983 with 24k miles I sold the car. Flash forward to 1989 and 300 miles away I stumbled onto "MY" car in a customers parking lot. I struck a deal and I returned the car to it's right ful owner, ME! The car was always garaged when I owned it the first time but it seems that it had not seen a garage in 6 years. The paint was in sad shape, the interior in worst. But the car still only has 84k miles on it today. The drive train was upgraded with an 81 ignition, 82 GSL rear, braided stainless brake lines, and new 15" wheels. The interior was also redone and a new sound system installed. I worked on the car off and on until 1999 when I purchased another first love a 69 Camaro Z10 pace coupe. Needless to say work on the 7 stopped and all my resources and energy were spent on the camaro.
5 months ago, I lost my storage for the 7 and needed to bring it home. The car still needs paint and has a small amount of rust in the left rear wheel well but is in basically sound shape. Anyway the car had not been run for 6+ years and the engine would only partially turn over by hand. 3 weeks later with marvel mystery oil and a little help from some ATF, the engine fired and has returned to life.
I'll be starting the final body and paint work soon and hope to have the car back on the street over the course of the year. So, enjoy the photos of the car that I've owned twice. I'm am the first and fifth and final owner.
