i got the top part of dash off and i got the carpet out i just need to put the new carpet and top part of the dash in, but im not sure she wanted new parts it took me all day to get out the dash out and when i got to the carpet i just tore it out and what wouldnt tear out i took a razor knife too the carpet was already trash anyways i didnt get the ignition im hoping monday and then im gona see if she'll start and if she does im gona be the happiest SA owner kuz then i've got a running 79' that i paid $90.00 (since it gave me the $10.00), plus the $22.00 for front speakers, my dads old CD player, the alpines out of his 85' (the black 1) for the rear, and then put on a drivers side mirror. and after that its minor body work , detailing and then a little work on fixing the console with a little JB wield. and once all the new locks are in she'll be getting a freash coat of paint

rear rotor has REALLY low comppression it wont start im probly gona have to rebuild the motor but i have a small question for any 1 who may know the answer.
will the rats nest from a 79' swap onto a motor out of an 81'? but thats only a temp im puttig the original motor back in it ASAP
and heres another 1 if i swap the 79' engine and trany temporaily will it cause any issues with the drive line?

I think the solenoids are the same but you may want to search to be sure about the rats nest. Nothing wrong with the swap of the tranny and engine, but if I recall correctly you have to change the tail piece on the tranny because of the placement of the hole for the shifter on an SA.

any ways im just gona have to rebuild the motor the rear rotor has NO compression i think it blew a seal i just hope the housing isnt screwd that would suck ... to many hoses and wires im gona need like 8 roles of masking tape, a felt- tip marker, me tools, jack-stands, jack, sumthing to kick when i get pissed..... besides my car, and i still have to re-assembly my interior aaaffffffter i sand blast the rear end and hit it with some rustolium, put in my new locks, put heat shielding back on, then put the motor back in all with out getting myslef/others hurt ..... ehhh, not gona happen... at least the getting hurt part

I'm not sure if you have the insulation already or not, but I used an adhesive sound deadening material (similar to dynamat). It's easy to work with and cuts down a lot of road noise and heat.

Check out the parts for sale section and post a WTB for a muffler etc... and see what comes up.

You may want to go with a header, at some point anyways.

Racing Beat - brand new
Disassembled Road Race Header Kit
74-85 (12A)

Part Number: 16211
Retail Price: $115.00

For ideas on exhaust and what to get, take a look through the Racing Beat web site. They got the OD and wall thickness listed in their parts descriptions. That'll give you an idea of what to look for.

I don't believe so, IIRC the SA has a 3rd pipe and the FB's don't. Plus I think the hangers are placed in different spots. You can check out Racing Beat's exhaust systems, even if you don't buy one from them you can at least see how they've got different part numbers for different year 1st gens, which would indicate that there are some sort of differences, otherwise they would only offer 1 part for all years.
