(INTAKE) Holley almost tuned!!!
So yeah, I did it without anybodys help I finally got this damn thing to work. Holley 600 too big for six port. I even made my own pubic jets for it from a Nikki (drilled em out to .040) and it was still too rich. This is the secret that no one would tell me. Wanna know? I don't know if I should, then everybody would have a kick *** 1st gen just like me. Ok I'll spill the beans buy a Holley 450 universal with mech secondaries put a .021 spray nozzle on it and go have fun. Beware though with no choke and 16 degrees F it takes about half a gallon of gas to start it but once its warmed up OH BOY!!! I think I'm gonna re-jet the primaries cause it leans out at 6500rpm I'll keep posting as I tune it. And to everyone who reads this post and already knows how to tune a Holley for a wankel yeah thanks for your help.

good job!
I hear you on that. Out of all the people out there, I cant believe nobody has any useful info on the holley. I cant get any feedback either. I am trying to run a holley 465cfm on my 12a bridgeport. So far I am getting the replaceable metering jet kit? & the center pivot float bowls put in.

Float bowls are a very good choise the other option to keep the stock Holley ones from flooding when you corner is to adjust the level 1/4 turn down. Your 465 might be too small for a bridge port (you know the bridge port loves the gas) you might have to try a 550 or a 600cfm

holley
Everyone says it is too small too, But my friend who built the motor says he ran a 465cfm, jetted it and got 240hp out of the 12a. He knows what he is doing. I just wish he would hurry up and finish my carb!!

are you sure your friend got 240hp out of a STOCK engine with a holley 465?
is that with an *** dyno or a professional?
Not trying to flame but tired of hearing bs hp ratings from minimal mods and no porting
peace

The Holley carbs that RB offers for the stock port engines whether it be 12a or 13b, is 465cfm , the jetting may be different between the two. They offer 600cfm for the 6 port engines. They don't say what size for the street port, and bridge port uses either 600 or 650cfm double pumper. The carb on mine is the 465cfm, which I got second hand. I haven't actually "tuned" it, it has the jets in it that it came with which is whatever size they put in it. It does run quite rich, I just don't have the time it takes to tune it. Ane I agree with the other post, I don't think he's really getting 240 hp with stock ports, regardless what carb he uses.

sold the FD...kept the FB
I'm running a Holley straight out of the box from Racing Beat for my SP 12A. To be honest, it doesnt feel like it's tunned very well. Full throttle seems okay, but partial throttle, especially right when you step into it slowly, is all messed up. It's running lean.... I get lean stumbles that show up on my wideband o2 sensor. I need to find someone to help tune this thing.
Do you guys think a regular carburator shop that works on holleys on V8s could help tune my holley on my 12A? Theres one close by that I've heard good things about, but they have no rotary experience.

Dont run a 600 on a stock 12a you'll catch your exhaust on fire. That's why I ditched mine, it made my six port run real fat so fat it filled my shop FULL in about 20sec of running even after I made jets that were .040 that Holley doesn't even make.

What kind of half bridge? I had a 12a with a perforatred bridge port ....... ahhhh.......my little 12a that motor kicked ***. I ran it with all stock components (minus the emmissions stuff) and it made 30 more HP than a stocker.

I was not talking about this statement...
but this statement....
Im just sick and tired of everyone who has a frind who said they get xxx amount of hp and havnt even dyno tested the results.
didnt mean to get you pissed or flame you but damn....
I guess since the skid marks in my undies are 4" long from that last takeoff Im getting about 500hp.
For what it is worth I do appoligise if you are offended, but I am an active member in about 12 differnt auto related forums and hear this all the time. People will read this and actually believe it (Plastic turbo ram air "good for an added 50hp" ring any bells)

okay,so I had the joy (I'm being sarcastic)of tuning a holley on a rotary.....ALL SUMMER.Any way, this is a basic rundown of what I did.56 metering jets(you may need different)50cc acellerator pump (took out the lean stumble of the line)changed accl.cam to match accl. pump, removed choke plate, changed power valve to close early(15 lb of vaccum).Basically I used knowledge
from tuning holleys on V8's and applied it to my rotary.
If you have any Q's that I might be able to help with, you
can contact me by e-mail (makeshiftak@yahoo.com).
Oh yeah, speaking of holley,I'm going to try out a 750cfm pro-jection kit I have on the car this winter,I'll keep you all posted on this.
Good luck,
Nick

thanks for the info ...
I love it when people share their work.
Most people just bitch and act all stupid and never believe anything.
again I thank you. I just became a semi expert on webers after many months of tuning. Not easy so I know what you are going thru..

its all good damon
I was referring to the same motor i have in my car right now that is ported out that my friend used a 465cfm on. He used the motor for about 3k miles and took the motor out, sold the car. I then bought the motor from him but i had to get all new accessories. I need to be more specific in my threads i guess? I hate typing. so **** it... Thanks guys
