(DRIVETRAIN) 84-85 replacement U joints

I saw a thread on replacement u joints for the 86+ but it didn't say about the 84-85 U joints. Anyone know where I can get a pair? Mazdatrix only offers up to '83 as most of us know...wonder if ReSpeed could make a lighter driveshaft w/ u-joints like mazdatrix does for the 86+

The u-joints in '84-85 are not replaceable, at least not in the usual easy way.

A driveshaft shop *may* be able to replace them, but IIRC they're pressed into place. Oftentimes it's easier just to grab a junker driveshaft than to try and replace the U-joint.

Edit: read here on mazdatrix:

The "Aftermarket" driveshafts we offer are completely new, balanced and ready to install. They incorporate traditional replaceable u-joints so you can rebuild them if you ever wear them out.
