GB: Chassis Stiffening, Gauging interest in Spoon Sports Rigid Collar kit
7ers,
With most of our cars passing their 20 year anniversary but still seeing track time, it makes infinite sense to stiffen the chassis as much as possible. There are many solutions that either cost an arm and a leg or involve 1000s of man hours. Solution:
1. Spoon Sports Rigid Collar:
2. Various Braces that add weight with unproven engineering.
3. Welding: Time & $$$$
4. Full Roll Cage: Impractical for road car! This kit would add further stiffening to a caged car!
So after contacting Spoon they have an FC kit but have not developed an FD kit. This thread is to gauge interest in a simple and inexpensive kit that could make a big difference for the amount spent ~ Aproximately $250
I will forward this thread to Spoon so they will develope an FD kit, so don't sign up unless you are willing to purchase within 6 months.

If this is in fact true, I will confirm it and maybe we can get a group buy at RE Amemiya, my desire was not to profit just get the kit made!

Wow, wish I knew about this when I asked about

I may be interested if these do in fact help alignment.
BTW, yen is at an all

25k yen is ~218 USD. That's not too much over your GB price with shipping.
Now, if anyone has manufacturing contacts that can reverse engineer these things, there might be a little bit of money to be made, while providing a good price to fellow members
Unfortunatly, i do not have any said contacts

Talked to Spoon Direct...
Here is the best they will do...£260+6 shipping ($422.31) shipped to me...This is with me not making a dime or getting a discount...and only if I can get an order of 10 or more...If it's a lot more than 10 orders, say 25, I might be able to get them for £250+shipping ($400)+shipping from Texas say $10...

Just to be clear...
The most anyone would pay for the entire kit F&R is about $435 shipped, also if we do paypal I will have you paypal Spoon direct and keep me financially out of the loop...
My involvement is simply to make sure the parts are available, I am not receiving any personal discount...
Think of it this way...if the car is tighter with less suspension movement and better NVH what is that worth to you...I say >$500 is money well spent!

The aluminum acts as a weld or crush point to eliminate this movement...

Ok after doing some research...this is a rockin' Deal...
1. The spacers are not aluminum...it's a very expensive blend that is proprietary...
2. Try to get these for better price...a single set is at least $500 shipped
3. Some places that offer them, do not have any stock on the shelf.
4. This is a great DIY which I will publish and a great Winter project that will add long term value and improve handling!
5. This package is proven "."
Finally, nothing is cheap in Great Britain, look at how expensive F1 is, but the engineering is legit!
