BorgWarner EFR Turbo Systems
We are now stocking the Borgwarner EFR Turbo Systems here at Addicted Performance. These units have been out for a few years now and with positive feedback now getting back to us we feel comfortable to market them. Here is some back ground on the Turbo.
The EFR line of turbos was born out of an internal BorgWarner Turbo Systems program labeled Advanced Aftermarket Products or AAP. The program was engineered by a cross-functional team that began with the proverbial clean-sheet of paper. No legacy products, no preconceived notions of what a turbo could or could not have; no restrictions. The aerodynamics for the product line were selected using a range of optimized combinations that would give users turbo solutions anywhere between 250 and 1000 horsepower capability per turbo. Next, a list of every notable design characteristic for an engine boosting device was tabled. Specific interest was given to new ideas that had never been formed in metal or had never been combined into an aftermarket turbo.
The result is the new EFR (Engineered for Racing) line of turbos from BorgWarner. These turbos contain a bevy of key attributes such as Gamma Ti turbine wheels, dual ceramic ball bearing cartridges and investment cast stainless steel turbine housings. Collectively, those features help give the EFR line its innovative appeal and will provide a breakthrough experience in durability, device responsiveness and installer/user satisfaction. Seven different sized turbos, optimally matched for the 250 - 1000hp per turbo segment - and four different turbine housings. The EFR series covers all applications except the hardcore drag racers.

Really nice units and great performing turbos. Would my pick if I had a 2 rotor. The HP ratings for rotaries are misleading for sure. I think realistically you can expect around 500 WHP on a 2 rotor which is great BTW. Best you will see on a 3 rotor is around 550 WHP.

I got a stupid question..actually 2.
I run a T04S and got 357 on my S5 TII.
What can I expect if I got to say the 8374?.(spool time?.my Turbo is like 4k before anything.)
Also,since the new EFR's are internally gated(looks like it) what happens to the old External wastegate setup?Can I just Plate it?(block it off?..HKS cast manifold).

Collin, they are too small for a 20B - don't allow enough airflow, at least not with using just one.
I'm sponsored by Borg Warner/SE Power Systems and initially tried to install the "1000 HP" 8374 unit, or the largest they have. When it showed up, it looked like a Honda turbo (tiny) compared to my Precision T78. So, we went back to the drawing board and properly sized a non-EFR unit to fit the 20B. We ended up with a S400SX3 unit and will be playing around with the AR sizing to get it properly set up. I'll be posting all of this up once I get my car up and running so check out the info in the thread. The SE Power Systems guys are coming over for the dyno session and we will video tape the results and post up the dyne runs.

I've had an EFR 7670 EWG 1.05AR since 2011 on my 13B-REW and I'll never go back to conventional turbos. These things are amazing. Mine starts spooling around 2k RPMs and builds steady all the way up to about 7k.

A couple local buddies have the 8374 and I understand that it spools about the same time but has the top end to take it out to 8k RPMs at least, so I'm going to ride with them and see how I like it. And when my 7670 craps out, or when I have enough money burning a hole in my pocket, I'm gonna try the 8374 to see if I can eek out that extra top end so I can pull all the way to redline, but ONLY if it spools as fast.
