Staggered
Yeah, larger tires in back dial in more understeer. It's a good thing for high speed track events. I've relied on this myself this year
ttb, you shouldn't have a problem with 9 x 17, 255/40-17 S-03s all around, provided you use 45-mm offsets with the SSR GT-1s. I think they are available in that offset for that size...

ttb,
I just spoke with Rishie (ARD T2) and he said I should get 17x9 all around and then do a staggered tire size like 245 or 255 in front and 265 or 275 in the rear.

ttb,
I'm on top of your setup as well. I've been working on it in the background with BATMAN. My suggestions coincide with both BATMAN and SleepR1.
See Batman has, as stated, upgraded his anti-sway bars and therefore has different needs. You on the other hand may want to go with the symmetrical setup.
I've confirmed what is available it's the "SLEEPER fitment". Hence the 17,9 +45 offset. Based on Manny's experience he's had no problems with the AVS-i 255/40/17 at all in the front. He's lowered with HR springs so you know he's dropped an inch. That's some great info for you to deduct the sizes you'd like to run.
My suggestion, depending on where you want your gearing and ride height, would be to go with either 245/40/17 or 255/40/17.
For Alain, he's real adamant on staggered fitment so my suggestion on wheel widths has remained the same, 9's all around. Just stagger the tires then.
He currently has 245/40/17 and is going to purchase 265/40/17 for the rear. He will however be running the 9's all the way around. It only makes sense and will allow you to dial in your "preferred" tire fitment in the future as your driving abilities and limits change.
With regards to whether you should go 225 or 235 and 255 or 265, that really comes down to the tire you choose. You may not have an option for the most part. Some companies don't make the 255 so you gotta go 265. But you'll always want to match up the 235 and 265, 225 and 255, as they have the same rolling diameters.
I'm leaving for SEMA on Monday, but if you are ready before alain just say the word and I'll have them for you. Will be back on Nov. 9.
9's all around, "Sleeper fitment" rules. +45's.
245/40 or 255/40. whatever you choose. If going to club events/open track go 255. If it's mostly street then do the 245's to retain your stock gearing. Hope this sounds right Manny? Let me know if I f'd up anywhere.
Best of luck. We'll be in touch.
Thanks, Rishie

Think I might go with the AVS, too cheap to past up.
QTY. Size and Description Availability Price Each Item Total
4 17x9 SSR GT1 In Stock $375.00 $1,500.00
4 255/40ZR17 Yokohama AVS Intermediate In Stock $94.00 $376.00
for total of $1981 (w/ shipping). If you or anybody else can beat or match this let me know ASAP so I don't order from tirerack.
Thanks

Rishie,
Looks good to me. Sage advice!
ttb,
Yes, I'm running AVS Intermediates now with the SSR Integral A2s in 45-mm offset. I have 255/40-17. Outstanding road and track performance. I bought my tires when they were $104 each. They're now $94 each. It's a no-brainer, really
