I have coilovers thankfully. I am just having trouble finding wheels I like and what offset will give me the function and look I want

What function and look are you going for? If a wheel will fit a SN95 (99-04) Mustang, you can get it to fit an FC.

17x9 all around looks really good on these cars, and it works well.

When I say function I'm meaning I don't have to have camber like the 16 year old kids want lol. I want the car to have a good tire/wheel setup that performs well when driving yet has a good look.

How aggressive do you drive the car? That will determine how much camber you need in front.

-1.5 to -1.75 degrees of camber in the front then.

So wouls a square 17x9 +30 with a 235/40 would fit under stock metal with maybe some light massaging in the front?

I noticed the pic with the cosmis, here they are on my fc
11.5 et9 i reckon, they do require wide fenders :-)

Yep. 10.5 is about the widest wheel you can go under stock fenders.

I learnt the hard way, i did have +50mm rear fenders first but it wasnt enough, so i switched to +85, but i think its because of the et...i have about 35mm from the coilover to the tire :-)

So Im currently looking at the Gram Light 57DR wheels in 17x9 +22. Would they tuck in more or poke more than the picture? Sorry for the dumb questions but offset confuses the hell out of me. Im trying to find the best offset for the car. I want an aggressive look as possible without rolling fenders. Im on coilovers

They will stick out 2mm more. 2mm is about the thickness of 2 credit cards.

You'll need some front camber and a front fender roll.

So the lower the offset the farther in the wheels are? Is that correct. So basically if the my current wheels are +22 and I change to +12 the outer lip will be 10mm closer to the center of the car. Is that correct?

No that is backwards. The lower the number of offset, the further the wheels go to the OUTSIDE of the car. in your example the wheels will be 10 mm further from the center of the car.

24mm is about 1 inch.

If you have an 8 inch wheel with 0 offset, the mounting pad is dead center in the width of the wheel.

If you have an 8 inch wheel with a +24 offset the mounting pad is moved outward in the wheel barrel, pulling your wheels towards the center of the car, giving you less dish on your wheel and making it more flush.

A -24 offset pushes the mounting pad inward or deeper into the barrel of the wheel, moving your wheel outward, and giving you more dish.

Great. I appreciate all the help. I ended up going with Gram Lights 57DR 17x9 +38. That will allow me to use a spacer if I don't like the way they sit. Now I just need to decide on proper tire size
