RX-2 using high pressure EFI fuel pump

Any of you guys running EFI engines in your RX-2's, I'm wondering what you did (if anything) to plumb in a high pressure fuel pump?

I have never opened up the stock tank to see if its baffled inside, but I doubt it is.
If I fitted an inline fuel pump to the stock pickup tube, how bad am I going to loose fuel pressure around 1/4 tank?

I guess the most sensible thing to do is build a swirlpot system ehh?

Anything below 1/4 tank is no good for the Efi pumps cause it picks up air while fuel is moving around.I have Efi now and gotta keep above 1/4 tank or else it starves for fuel while I'm boosting.best thing to do is make a surge tank and that will solve all the issue.

Great! thanks for the info.

Mine is not going to be boosted, so for now I think I'm going to plumb a walbro inline and keep it above 1/4 tank.

in oz in older times we used to mount a surge tank in the boot , and feed it with a lift pump from the original location

that steals a bit of boot space and can make for some smells

i drove around like that for many years

currently i have taken the pump and bracket assembly from a s4 rx7,, shortened the drop and welded the flange onto the top of the capella tank

this gives a submersible pump ,, but lacks the boxed baffle as is normally seen around a submersible efi install

it hasnt run in this config yet so yet to see how that copes during cornering
/ am contemplating opening it back up to add in a rudimentry box

Gas tank's drain is also an option as a supply line to the fuel pump.
