Just wondering if anyone had any info on CA buying cars that won't smog still..got a shitty 89 Sentra that has a failing transmission that is worth like $500...would be sick if the state would pay more.

Yes, search under vehicle retirement program or VRRM.

I had a old 76 Ford van a few years ago,I put it on Craigslist for $400 and someone hit me up and told me as long as it drives and don't overheating that they will pay me $800 for it lol.so I drove it to them and they cashed me out on the spot and then they crushed the van.it was cool cause I got double of what I was asking for it.I'm pretty sure they still do tgat, they are trying to get rid of all these old polluting vehicles.

^ It has to pass visually and functionally. One trick is to gut the cat so it is visually there.

Well I wanted the extra $50 for the cat when I recycle it. I guess I can always core out the thermostat so the car is always running cold and injecting extra fuel. Then I can limp it to the yard they buy it from with no cat lol
