Give me ideas...and I got a few questions

Hey, I haven't posted for while and I'm seeing if anyone can give me any suggestions or answers to some q's

First off, I'm thinking of replacing my old NGK plug wires with something new. My buddy bought some accel ones for his first gen and says there alot better than his originals. There like 50 CAD and I'm not looking to order anything too fancy but just buy something to refresh them.

Secong of all, I'm bringing my car to drag race at this little city near where I live in about a few weeks, so I'm wondering what some simple things I can do to make it fast as possible for race day. Prior to going I'm making a cold air intake which should of been done long time ago. The adapter is being made by a local guy. How have you guys mounted your AFM's? What size K&N have youg guys bought? You guys cut metal or run dryer duct? Another thing is I'm gonna run off my header and make lots of noise for everyone to enjoy too, hehe. That's all I'll have time for really. I'll slap my 185's on the front for less drag and that's about it. OH yeah, what's your opinions on with ports wired open?
I raced low 18's with my car entirely bone stock and clogged ports last year. Can I expect at least 16's with my setup this year?

Thanks, sorry bout the length

Plugs - stay with OEM as there specialized plugs (or mabey someone knows of sparkplugs that are compatible).

Wired 6ports - helps with topend buy cuts some of your low end torque.

Yeah, the low end blows goats

The top end is sweet

I'm not sure why they aren't working properly though. I must of cleaned them every possible way and they open fairly easily with my finger and with air that I tried with from an air compressor. I have a feeling not enough air is being forced from my exhaust to force them open. Any suggestions?
