RE-Base 7 getting new paint... But what?
So I'm only a few weeks from getting fresh paint on the newest car, a 5-lug swapped base with a 13B-Real among other things. The car will have the B-Wave front end, Sexy Style hood, TII skirts, Rotary Extreme diffuser and Mariah Mode 5 wing along with AW7 wheels. Oh yeah, maroon interior with black Bride Pros.
My dilemma is this: what options are there for paint that won't look like ***? I know black, white (not interested in either of those), charcoal, silver, and maroon/burgundy (car is. Royal Maroon now) but I'm looking for other choices.
In no real order, I'm thinking dark (almost black) blue, Infini Green, or Root Beer. Any colors I'm not thinking of?

Nate, awesome color, indeed; however, what happens when I open the door and a maroon and black interior show up? I hit upon almost that exact color a few minutes ago in Photoshop and my girl loved it, but we're unsure on how the interior will (or won't) work out.

Quick and dirty mockups. I added my wheels to the donor FC pic. Also grabbed a pic of the Mariah wing just to get an idea of how it will look. Leaning more towards the gold at this point.
Good point, Nate. I was looking at it more from a short term standpoint instead of long-term. Grey or black interior works for me.

Im against that Mariah Mode 5 wing , its just too dam wide it doesnt flow well with the car imo. Paint it separate and see if you like the car without it. I think it might look better with black post or end plates.. or even cutting up the sides to shorten them etc

with the kitted car all those colors will look good, but with any color change you have to go all the way or it will kill the whole car once you open a door, jambs and underhood are really important.
If you think your going to track and bang this car up go for the simpler colors that are easier to touch up

I agree outside of the fact that it's around $270 for 2 quarts of just the color. That, of course, is going with the actual formula, not just a similar color.

Ok. I bought the paint today. Clear and reducer to be purchased this week after payday. Hoping to have everything prepped and ready for paint within a week so.
These pics are from a Mazda 323F. Same color as what I chose: Paint code VQ (Noble Green).

Here are a couple of pics of my RX-8 shifter that we painted to show my fiancee' what it would look like. When she saw the pics I posted of the 323 earlier, she hated it. After seeing this, she said it's growing on her. LOL.
(Yes, I know it's a 6-speed ****. It was practically free as a flawed item at Sevenstock a few years ago.)

Here are a couple of shots just after the clear was sprayed. I can't wait to see her out in the sun! Unfortunately, I have to wait until Friday since I have a 13 hour shift tomorrow. Blah.
