welding shocks
My buddy has the HKS hypermax coilovers for his rx8. His rear shock broke. The welds that hold the lower bushing to the shock broke off. My welder said he doesnt want to weld it because the gas inside the shock is still inside under pressure.
We are having a hell of a time trying ot contact hks to have these shocks repaired, reciept is lost and shop my friend bought it off of, closed down.

Drill a 1/8" hole through layers of inner tube rubber near the bottom of the shock on the round cylindrical portion still. Weld the mount on and keep the body cool. Then, purchase a Schrader valve that has a 1/8" NPT and either TIG or braze a bung for the schrader. Then charge to about 200 psi with nitrogen if possible.
Done.
Don't thank me!

Yes, very bad deal if the gas is still inside. You can use dry air if there is no nitrogen available, as air is 76% N2.
I do this to Bilsteins to make remote resevoir shocks. No big deal but make sure to use the rubber so the chips and any crap is not blown into your face.
