hey guys i have a 93 rx7 my front end is 4'' off the ground and i want to know what rims will fit without rubbing and without having to roll my fenders. i prefer 17's or 18's.

18x10 with a offset of +50-52 is about as big as you will want to run. I use 285/30-18 on this setup and have no rubbing at all. My fenders are rolled but it wouldn't rub even if it wasn't.

The rear can do a 10.5in rim on a 295 tire with about a +45-50 offset. This is with after market trailing arms in the rear though. Otherwise 18x10 all round.

 

Start with a few things:

1. Budget for wheels and tires
2. Use for the car (autox, road course, street driving, drag racing)
3. Style of wheel you like (mesh, split spoke, multi-spoke)

 

im not really looking for a specific rim right now im just looking for sizes that will fit. because i have 17x8 all around no off set and my front rubs really bad to the point where it cuts up my tires.

 

I had the same thing with my first set of rims (18x8) I than jumped down to a 17x8 in the front and rolled the lip of the fender. Havent had any issues since. and thats with a +22 offset. I plan on running a 17x9 in the front this year thou. but I need to find a new barrel for the rear than.

 

You have a 17 x 8 and it's rubbing? What kind of balloon tires do you have on it?

It's either that, or the alignment is really off.

 

"17x8 all around no off set" what exactly does that mean? You have 17x8 +0 all around?

The reason I ask the questions about the rims is that you can necessarily get every rim in every possible size and offset combination. That can limit your choice of rims depending on the size, offset type and other questions listed above.

 

The stock wheels are 16x8 with +50 offset. With +0 you'll definitely have a problem.

thx for your help guys. but i was planning to go 17"x8.5 in the front with 17"x10 in the bak. to make that work wat kind of offset would i need? or would it rub either way?

 

If depends what you want. You will have people on here tell you that you can fit some very low offsets. You will have people that tell you to use higher offsets. Given that the factory 16x8 wheels are a +50; if you want to reduce the effort for fitting new wheels, you want to be somewhere in the +38 to +47 range for offsets.

 

so +38 in the front and +47 in the bak would work with 17"8.5 and 17"x10?

 

If those are the wheel sizes you are looking at, I would look for around +40 to +43 in the 17x8.5 and around +45 to +47 in the 17x10 size. Again, its better if you start with the wheels that you like and the budget rather than the size. Depending on your budget, 17x10 may be hard to come by except for only a handful of options.
