im back with anotoher first gen :)

hey guys, glad to be back here.

i was saving up for a 3rd gen, and came across this first gen that caught my eye here for sale on these forums, and just had to do the unthinkable and dip into the fd money and buy this beast.

its an 82, streetported 12a, webber carb, full exhaust, etc. etc....

pretty excited, but not happy about the time of year. (i live near toronto, canada)

i'd post pics, but don't know how to....if anyone can help??? pm me please

Its an '82, 200,000kms on body, approx 30,000 on rebulit 12a street port

Weber 48 ida? (correct me if i'm wrong)

Holley FPR (need an upgraded fuel pump im thinking)

Headers, res, and fart can muffler (very loud)

100 amp alternator, dual alt pulley, electric fan, tall rad (no oil cooler, but have a TII to put in)

Interesting body kit (i love the skirts lol)

Pacesetter (according to owner) springs (sitting way too high in the rear), kyb fronts, tokiko gold rears

Stage 2 clutch

Its had the interior redone, its very clean inside

The car has the crappiest primer paint job i've seen in years, so that's got to change. haha

So, I'm in the market for a few things in the near future....Wheels, paint, some way to quiet it down (im thinking magnaflow muffler in place where the main cat used to be), aftermarket fuel pump, lsd disc brake rear end, possible blowthrough turbo.

The car came with a nice set of 13" Chevoit mesh wheels that I am putting up for sale.

Anyways, judge away. I want to see what people think of this car

Do you have any pictures of the wheels? I've never seen Chevoit wheels.

i hate the body kit and the primer paint. the kit just makes me sick. other than that, the red painted trans is awful. but its your car and if you are happy with it than thats all that matters. on a good note, the rest of the car looks pretty nice and welcome back!!

Yes, I know the car looks horrid with the primer paint, wheels, and the ride height...these issues will all be addressed of course

The body kit was one off....The guy I got it from said his buddy made it. The front is common, but I've never seen sides or rear anything like it myself.

Aside from the look issues, I believe the car has lots of potential. Its still solid, has an excellent interior, and its quick.

LOL yeah that may happen, not sure yet. I guess I could go any color with that black interior and it would look good. I'm thinking a yellow/orange, or white, or black. Paint will come last, and hopefully just as spring rolls around....I'll be contacting your paint guy most likely, depending on price.

Great find! It's always good to see another FB on the road! Especially when it's near the same neighbourhood.

Have you got any more pics of the weber setup? I'm curious as to what the vacuum line is for that's hooked up right next to the oil injection line on the front intake runner.

You should back the screws off a bit on the air filter. It's a minor issue, but the airflow is gonna be deflected around a bit as it passes through the K&N.

What numbers are you running for needle valve, choke and jets?

You definitely want to scrap the stock fuel pump. You need something with better flow for the Weber. I'm happy with the Carter. But it is loud. I'm gonna use better rubber isolators in the spring to fix that issue.

That rear bumper is really rare. My fc came with that rear bumper that was modified. I no longer have it anymore...

Interesting find. Unless you're going with a larger diameter wheel, keep the Cheviots, they're unusual.

Wow, your setup is so similar to mine

I could take more pics of the Weber setup, but I think the vacum line you are referring to is for a the vacum gauge.

Do you mean the screws on top of the air filter?

I haven't touched the car since I bought it and took pics. I wish I had a warm place to work on it, but she sits outside for now

I am low on cash, so nothing big is going to happen to the car at the moment...Just little things.

I could pm the previous owner and find out about the jets. (probably a good idea)

Chelsey Ontario? Where is that! We should definately hook up sometime...Do you have pics of your car up? I'm curious

I do like the Cheviots, but I do plan on going to a 15"

I would like to run Enkei 92's....unless I can find a reasonable deal on some Epsilons, or Auto Bahns.....or any other old school style.

It looks like you have just one screw. From what I can tell, only the one side of the filter is deflected. I would remove the filter and straighten it out to match the good side. The K&N won't make a good seal with some of the pleats bent like that.

As far as checking the jets etc, the quickest way is to unscrew the small mesh screen that sits in between the trumpets. You can then back out the four brass 'screws'. These will come out as a unit and you can read the numbers stamped on the sides of the various sections. For the needle valve, you're gonna have to remove the top of the carb. The 'warmer' solution would be to call the previous owner.

Chesley is only 1 1/2 hours away from Kitchener. It's the home of the annual BCM.

I definitely want to check out your car. I've only got one engine bay pic handy right now.
