extending power curve past 8k rpms...?
extending power curve past 8k rpms...?
i am looking to raise my rev limit to gain power under the curve. i have a t3 1.06 setup but gets slight choked just before 8k rpms. i am looking to rev to 8500-8800 rpms. would a t4 1.00+ turbine flow enough past the 8k range or could i keep my t3 1.06 and flatten off the timing map a bit more?
The GT35R T3 1.06 is a good turbo but does get weak at the higher revs. You need a larger turbo than just going T4 with it. Something like an A-Spec GT500R or GT40R. But your porting also has an affect on this. Not all street ports are the same.
To give you a more complete suggestion, I would switch to a T4 flange and get a T4 1.00ish housing on that turbo. Your lag will increase slightly but your flow up top would easily reach your powerband goals. That turbo has a great compressor and I am pretty sure the problem is that you are maxing out your T3 rear before you reach the maximum capacity of the compressor. Going to a bigger compressor will do nothing for you in this department besides increase your lag with no gain on the top end.

i am going to look into the t4 setup with a 1.00+ a/r. my t04z based turbo is basicly a gt37r, with a gt35r turbine wheel and a 67mm compressor wheel. where could i come across finding a turbine housing to fit? zero you possibly have anything?
