Thats a really nice car but I'm sorry that bodykit is pretty ugly. I don't know about the rest of you guys but I think the FD is one of those rare designs where most bodykits DETRACT from the look of the car. The shape is so perfect and natural in stock trim, I don't see why anyone would mutilate it with some extroverted body kit. I mean most cars need a bodykit or something to look really good, but to me you can't improve on the design that much. I think an FD looks BADASS with just R1 front an rear spoilers, a nice set of rims and lowered an inch or two. Thats good enough for me. Also that wing looks like it came off a Honda. I know that an RX7 actually has a right to have a wing like that and it is functional but I hate that style of supports. I like the factory '99+ Jspec style of wing way better if you feel the need to have a wing that big.

While on the subject of bodykits, does anyone else agree that there are barely any good front ends for the FD? The only good ones are the stock one, the '99+ front end and the PFS/Racing Beat types that look mostly stock.

While I am rambling, I must also say that the best bodykit ever for the FD is the RE Amemiya widebody kit thats on the orange RX7 that was on the front of Turbo magazine late last year. that kit totally enhances the look of the car, while keeping the basic shape and contours that make the stock car look good in the first place. But even on that car, the front bumper and the hood are ugly as ****. My dream FD would have the widebody fenders and side skirts but a Jspec 99+ looking front end.

OK thats enough for now!

Peace

Wow that sounds just like my car... too bad that gets old after a while. Body kits are all a matter of preference but I think there's plenty of kits that look good on the fd like the Knight Sports, Feed, RE Amemiya N1, AutoExe, Sanai, etc. etc.

Droops83: i have to disagree with you. i agree on the part where you said that the stock rx7 looks BADASS as it is, but with most aftermarket kits you can make it look even more BADASS. i know that some aftermarket kits dont look classy and are not even as good as the stock look of the car (the biggest example i can think of is that rx7 in the FAST and the FURIOUS- i mean, that car was sweet looking, but even a stock rx7 is better looking, what was up with the nose of the car???).

but the black car in the picture is really nice looking. i for one love that wing. personally, my FD has all the 99 J-spec bodykits, and it looks awesome. maybe even more than this black car, but i dont understand how you can say that this black car is ugly??? its not ugly. its beautiful. its an rx7 for crying out loud.

I swear to the earth I need to school people on how to choose wheels for their cars. This is just another FD whos owner spent too much money in the wrong place. Damn, and I thought it was actually going to be a decent one this time.

OH COME ON!!
i can understand hating on the wing,
but everything else is just awsome!

on my personal car I wouldnt put a body kit on,
but thats just cuz i like a more layed back look.

But this car is beautiful,
and the rims are nice too, not the best ever,
but not half bad.

I think the paint job is one of the high points of this car,
makes all the curves just look that much better.

I agree about the paint being beautiful, but the rims have to go. I love the front end and side skirts but I am not into big aluminum wings. I like the stock wing or the '99 spec wing. Otherwise it is a great looking FD.

Overall the car is very nice.....but these are the things I don't like and why.

Wing- too ricey and sticks out too much
Rims- NO LIP at all, kinda like the front wheel drive rims you see all the time
Suspension- Why put bigger rims on car and not lower it enough...
Besides that pretty clean.

Once again, because it's a free-*** life I live...I'd rather use a bag full of ***-holes for a pillow than to put whack rims like those on my ride. The dude probably dressed whack too.

Ok, even though I am a newbie, I will give my opinion.

This is a very nice, and clean ride. The rims could use a lip of some kind, no questions asked. Personally I don't like the rim but it accentuates the body kit.

Did anybody else notice that it looks identical to the Mazdaspeed RX-7 GT-C in Gran Turismo 2?

But yeah, that is a very nice car besides the rims. Need some lips, like Angelina Jolie-style lips

wing and body kit are definately a thumb down... but whats wrong with the wheels? I think they are pretty nice. I wouldnt mind having those on my Corrado . Maybe if it was polished, it would look a little better.
