Car has been sitting a year, now what?

Hey,

I just got an 86 NA Rx7, we fired it up and some blue smoke came out (we used starter fluid to see if it would run, I know its bad) but it cut off too fast to see if it would keep blowing smoke (ran for maybe 5 seconds on the starter fluid). I have a fuel pump I will be installing tomorrow and I am going to clean out the tank and put fresh premium in it. My point is, should htere be a certain way to ease this car into running again after sitting for a year, its a re-built engine with 7500 miles on it when parked, what should I watch for I have already put new plugs in it.

Thanks

Jesse

Use regular 87 octane fuel. Premium is a waste of cash and less efficient in an NA.
