Great video Damian, love the camera setup. Car seemed to be running great, I hope you get it up and running and even better this time. Maybe see you at the nationals?

Damian, All the videos I used to watch of you driving, even though they were great, always looked very conservative when driving, perhaps its because Im just inexperienced, but in that vid you looked aggressive, and it was really a joy to watch. If Im wrong please correct me.

that was pure fun, at one point I didn't care who was ahead, it was just awesome to watch a great clean battle.

I thought you put a sequential gear box in your car, did I miss the part where you switched it back?

I don't think Damian had the sequential in the car until this past year - the video is from 2007.

Nice post and great driving, Damian!

Sequential gear box, nice! I knew you were hardcore, but not that hardcore! Hopefully I'll have the cash to come see this in action next year and get a bit more track time for myself.

I don't think he has a synched box, I believe it is a modified T5 "Dogbox" " lift to shift" like a motorcycle's Awsomeness still!!

Bitchin video Damian. I am starting my collection already of my track days from Road Atlanta

Great video, great race. The guy in the Corvette was all over the place, nothing like some blocking to keep a faster guy behind you.

What camera set up is that? I loved the g meter on the top.

In the bottom left frame, you can see he was using the clutch when shifting.

Love the gear whine! For the uninformed (myself), how do you use this gearbox? I understand how a "standard" drum-selected sequential gearbox works, but the unit you have still has an "H" pattern, right?

yup, still H-pattern, its just that it does not have syncros, it has dog ring engagement, basically its big 'teeth' that are tapered so that when force is applied, they pull towards each other, when force is let off, you can pull them appart, so you can shift with just a lift of the throttle, you do not need to clutch, but still need to blip on downshifts, nothing changes from a standard H-pattern other than no-clutch/lift throttle up shifts, and MUCH faster blip-throttle downshifts. Remember, it is a standard t5 transmission case, just the gears inside have been changed to upgraded racing gears and dogring instead of syncro engagment.

I would love a full on sequential, but that is out of my range right now, but I really love this setup, the shifting is just awesome. I only got to test drive it once at the end of last year, but will be able to do more testing/racing this season with it.

Nice and smooth driving.'

That yellow FB sounded pretty good, too.

That vette was trying so hard to stay ahead of you and was still slower.

Go do a search on posts by damian - there was a large discussion of his whole tranny setup not too long ago.
