I am looking to move out to N Dakota in the next year because of the Air Force and I was wondering if anyone could comment on the local emission laws. Currently I am not running emissions on my 1st gen. In WA we have the 25 yr rule where if the vehicle is 25 yr old or more..it does not need to get smog check..also are there any law enforcement cracking down on modifications or pulling people over for anything?

There is no smog testing in ND todate. Only thing they may do is ticket you for excesive noise for a loud exhaust.

 

Shoot up here in north dakota and south dakota they dont test anything its nice

 

Emissions tests, whats that?

 

The only thing you'd have to worry about is being found out that you don't have any emissions equipment since that's federal, or being too loud as Rocking said.

 

where are you planning on being stationed? Fargo? Grand Forks? There are alot of cars and trucks with no emmissions on them and I dont hear much of people getting noise pollution tickets. I have rollled along the side of cops in my single turbo FD and they dont do anything. There are too many rednecks up here for them to really enforce anything. They have better things to do.
