carb is pissing me off
remember that miss i was bitching about like 2 weeks ago? well, here is the update:
did the directfire ignition. i didn't notice a difference in power, but it started much quicker so it gotta be doing something. i used the wiring from my wrecked car to hook it up. it looks damn near factory. punch drunk from my success, i dove into the the intake manifold.
i ground out two passages between the primary and secondary runners. it ran much worse then the IR set-up that i had. the miss was uneffected. all i ended up with is a hesitation off idle and a loss of power. a quick jet change gained back some of the lost power, i dunno it was pouring down rain so i couldn't really got on it. the hesitation is still there, but not as bad. i was playing with the extra plastic spacer i have. i cut on passages in it and am going to try it out tomorrow. hey, it's easier then grinding the intake!!
any thoughts on where i should go with this? this is really starting to chap my ***.
there is just no spare $$ for a A/F gage, so i have to hold off on that for a while.
Paul is MIA. i just about gave up on ever getting ahold of him. i've only called about 20 over the last couple months with zero return calls.

Have you performed the AP modifications found in Sterling's carb mods archive? Sounds like you need a bigger shot when the carb is in transition...just a thought...
