got the news today and its not good.

so i've been having trouble with my car starting. changed the coil and nothing. so took it to my mechanic he called me today and told me that somehow a wire caught fire and burned the ecu and the ignition system. so now i have to pay $450 to get it all fixed.

Was that the problem or is that something that happened while at the shop. If it happened while at the shop it seems to me like the shop should have to pay for it.

I'd get a second Mechanic to look at it, and see if the second guy says the same thing! if one thing mechanics can screw you areound on, its definatley cpu and wiring problems. i had a mechanic telling me i needed a whole new cpu, and that i fried mine, i took it somewhere else, it ended up costing me like 25 bucks for a new wire or something dumb like that! SO GET ANOTHER OPIONION!

well the mechanic is a friend told me that the cpu was fried by a wire that looks like it was grounded out. said the wire was burned all the way to the ecu and the bitch burned.

I wire just doesn't spontaneously short and burn everything out.&nbsp The Mazda wiring isn't the best in the business, but I have found very rare that a wire short and burns stuff out.&nbsp It sounds like someone was screwing with the wiring prior to that...

yeah looks like the person that had the car before me had fucked around with alot of the wiring. or maybe it was me by accident. dunno. he told me when he lifted up the car there was a wire that went into the ecu that was burned.
