Need F9 tuned on dyno in So.Cal on my S4 FC

I have an N/A FC I have turbo'd. The N/A was running a HAltech F9 when I got the project. It was never tuned, just messed with enough to start every once in a while. It would take a VERY long time to eventually start.
I have since turbo'd the series 4 motor, modified the dist., added 2 MSD 6AL's, 3 MSD coils, and now it won't stay running past 1 or 2 seconds. Seems to be flooding out.

I am not savvy in any way with programming and I definitely need to spend some time on the dyno. I am looking for rotary tuners in so. cal. and dyno facilities.

So you have a distributor, I am assuming your running the lead coils direct to the plugs, do you have the 12A turbo distributor with the boost reference retard?

If not it will be a bit difficult to tune without blowing up especially if your using high compression rotors.

No, I don't. I would like more info on that please.
I did it the old fashion way used for many years successfully, which is disassemble the dist. and weld the weights in such a way as to only allow a maximum total advance of 18degrees. Sandrails using turbo'd N/A's used that trick.
I have been told that it may still be a degree or two fat at higher boost levels, but already forced to use 100+ fuel, premix, a complete fuel system capable of over 750hp, 1000cc secondaries, and still trying to figure out what primaries to run, and for now, only a stock S5 turbo. So I am assuming around 7 psi.

I still like the 12a dist. idea though. I would switch in a heart beat with more info.

Do you know of any shops with dyno, that can tune this combo?

I am in Long BEach and would happily drive it to S.D. I'm there for work alot. Will be there for the next 2 days working at the Convention center taking out a show.

There are more tuners and dyno's up in LA than down here.

18 deg is too much advance at peak TQ for 91 octane gas even on a stock turbo, and not enough advance under vacuum, it would probably be fine on 100 octane, it really depends on what the total package is doing.

The 12A turbo distributor is like the NA unit except that the vacuum advance also works as a boost retard. It's other advance mechanisms are also designed for a turbo engine. It was only sold in japan and came on the 12A turbo Rx7.

Another option would be ignition boxes that have a boost retard feature, but you'd getting to a price point where it would be better to get a better ECU.

Take it to Mech Tech Motorsports, im sure they will be able to take care of you. Or Danzio Performance. Mech Tech is in Escondido, Danzio in Lake Elsinore, they both have websites.

http://www.mechtech-ms.com

http://www.danzioperformance.com

And they are both Haltech dealers with dyno. But to be perfectly honest, you would make a much better running engine with the advantage of being able to tune the ignition, all you'd need would be an E6X and a 2nd gen CAS and coils and thats it. Do a search in this forum, pretty much any Haltech-Rotary related question you can think of has been asked at least once or twice before.
