My exhaust seems to be melting away the covering of the wires on the tranny.....so yea, the wires are without a cover. My reverse lights doesnt work, so I went under and I see the wires melting away and the connectors.
I was womdering if I disconnect the entire transmission wires from the main wireharness, will anything happen beside not having a reverse light (which at the moment I dont have anyway).
Anybody have a wiredigram for the transmission so I can rewire it?

This is a 88gxl manual tranny.

 

There should be two switches on the tranny, the neutral and the 5th/reverse. As far as a wiring digram goes http://www.teamfc3s.org/main/factory...NG_DIAGRAM.pdf
page 54 has the back up light switch.
