New products + more work!

Lil bit of a revival, got some new product which arrived today and decided to test it out on the unfinished side of my car!

Also had a "Shmitt GS" in my order that I had to test out too, and now that I have, I can say that its a fantastic wash mitt. Grout sponge material is very porous so it allows maximum retention of the wash mixture and pulls dirt into the material itself (and its really soft). A++

And now the new Meguiars #105 Ultra Cut Compound that was released quite recently. A lot of talk and raving about this product over on a bunch of detailing forums, so I was eager to test it out. Meguiars claims that its an ultra high cut compound (rated a 12 on their scale, which previously only went from 1-10!) but contains new state of the art "micro diminishing abrasives" which allow it to cut heavily at the beginning, then finish down as the product is worked and as the name implies, diminish to get a much better, haze free finish without even a lighter polish!!!

Couple before shots of the right side of my car

And a shot after just one pass with M105 on a LC white polishing pad! Amazing how much it took out.

Now for a few afters. Process was M105 on wool via rotary, then follow up with M105 on a white polishing pad via rotary, Clearkote's Red Moose Glaze on a finishing pad, then S100 carnauba wax to top that.

I gotta say that I'm totally sold on 105.. Its a tad pricey, being $30 for a 32oz bottle, and just shy of $90 regular price for a gallon of it, but it works amazingly, and finishes unbelievably for a compound of its cutting power. Only gripes I've found, along with others that have used it, is that it has a very short working time, and tends to gum up pads quite quickly if you don't clean them after every panel. Quick fix I've found is to mix Optimum Polish in with it 25/75 split to give it some more lubricity.

Anyways there ya go, the other side of my car is finished now hah.

Ryan Flemington on here also got his new equipment which you can see in action, with his work in this thread:

Sweet. What was the PC used for?
Where did you order the 105? Seems like it's the compound i've been looking for.

edit; Never mind about the PC. Looked at the other thread.

How does the UDM compare against the PC?

Got my bottle of 105 at Autogeek, my friend ordered the UDM and the Pinnacle XMT polish kit, and a bunch of pads. UDM seems to have less vibration and a bit better motor than the PC, I like it.
