Rear Suspension noise/vibration
Rear Suspension noise/vibration
My son nearly got killed in his 91 TII when a guy pulled out in fornt of him. Luckly he swerved and missed the guy. Unfortunately, he cliped his rear fender at tail light level (damage is not bad), jumped the median backwards and landed in a ditch. About 500 miles after the accident, the car developed a vibration and a roaring noise in what appears to be the same side as the clip but the vibration is bad enough to make it feel like its to that side or possibly around the diff. I checked wheel bearing play in the horizontal plane and did not feel any. Jacked the car up and rotated the wheel to see if the half shaft was bent and really didn't see anything there either. Swapped out rear wheels but the noise and vibration remain. Both increase with speed. Any ideas. Thanks
Thanks for the suggestions. I haven't checked diff mounts yet. Looked under the car, no real signs of subframe damage (no scrape marks). Another friend suggested the u-joints. Hopethat's not it - manual says you have to change out the entire prop shaft. Bummer
