Thumbs up S4 rebuild eye candy

A little premature to post since it probably won't get dropped into my 85 SE project for another 5 or 6 months but I know everyone loves pics...especially on a cold, boring Sunday morning.

A slight streetport, new water & oil pump, with some new Atkins seals. Zoom zoom.

Kudos to Brent at BSC Motorsports for the rebuild. My "slightly used" motor didn't give you much to work with but you turned it around for me. I can't wait to hear it run.

Later today I'll post pics of the old housings.

Yeah, the se engine certainly didn't have much in the way of good parts. Glad I could help you out. Can't wait to see the car done.

Thanks! But let's wait until the spring when I can fire up the BBQ again.

I'm counting on you to help with the drop! You made the pull look so easy.

Sounds like I missed out on a good time when you guys pulled the engine. I'll have to try and make it this time around, as long as I can schedule it in. It would be a good opportunity to meet some more forum members.

Brent
PS, I'll be picking up the last of the bolts(the ones that were on order for the front cover) this week. I'll set 3 aside for you.

Great. Thanks Jason. I think I have a bunch of free airshow T-shirts you can have too. Ha.

I guess I better get my *** in gear and finish (start) the body work.

Hey Brent - I'll pick up the *new* bolts in a couple of weeks. Thanks.

Hey Jamie, welcome to the party. Hehe.

Cool, I hate to see it with all new hardware except those 3 bolts right on the front cover. Funny how the tiniest of things can ruin the whole look of things. All I see when I look at the pics is those bolts. (I know I'm obsessive, I just can't help it. )

That's brutal, looks like the apex seals weren't getting any oil at all.

Weird thing was that there was a missing corner piece from one apex seal. The previous owner had run it so long like that there was a solid chunk of carbon that had filled the gap. The 3mm seals seem to be a lot harder on the housings. There was so much carbon in the engine that the vacuum port for the brake booster was completely blocked. I also doubt the oil injection was functioning. This is why I like premix so much. You get much more even distribution and it's reliable.

Same as all the rest, resurfaced irons, all new seals and springs, street ported intakes with t2 housings and exhaust ports. I didn't bother taking pics since they all look the same and I have tons of pics already.

All my engines come resurfaced whether or not the irons are within spec, don't see the point in putting worn parts in with a bunch of new ones.
