Temperature cool by 15 degree, my temperature is still at 210-230!!!! HELP

Hey guys, I test drove my car again wtih a different radiator cap. Car is still running between 210-230! I definitely have something wrong with my car. Anyway what do you guys think it is, water pump, thermostat or fan? I am going to change the belts and the fan later today. Hopefully it will get better.

well, the thermostat isn't an all too-challenging swap, and could be quite an easy fix if it is the problem, any change if you turn your heater on full? (helped when my truck overheated, so you never know)

hell, you can try to remove it completely before replacing it and see if that helps to make sure it's the problem, wasn't there just a thread on that?

I ordered it 2nd day, should be here Monday. I ordered a water pump and a thermostat gasket.

I can gut it now, but it owuld be pointless since I dont have a gasket to use it. I just have to thank the rotary god didnt kill the motor when it overheated last night.

I am going to drive it again tonight after i replace the belts and the fan. Let see what hapepens then

Good luck, no local hardware store carries it? I'm about 50 miles north of BFE and we carry that here, amazing!

Brian from mazdaspeed said it might not help that much since the fan usually dont help at 70mph. He is suspecting a bad water pump, which i ordered with the thermostat. I am going ot change them on Monday

Can you tell if there is any exhaust passing into the radiator? If there is thats bad news....
While the car is idle check the pressure of the radiator
if you notice it building and eventually blowing into the reservoir . The engine is toast.

no the only thing that is getting in the reservoir is when the motor heats up too high, coolant gets blown into it

If you blow the seals in the engine it will blow exhaust out to the cooling system....

Just did the belts and the fan, now i am running 180-195 now. Barely 195, usually 185-190. But the deal is that it is 25 degree cooler now than yesterday when i drove it. Should i still be worried about it or am i fine?

You should be worried for at least the next week. Keep a close eye on it. If it starts to climb up, shut the car down immediately and coast to the side of the road. Have you checked the front side of your radiator lately? When I removed my AC; I found a HUGE clump of leaves wedged in between the condensor and the radiator. That could cause a loss of cooling at higher speeds. If you have the time, take out the radiator and see if you can look through it all over. Any spots where light does not shine through is bad. And at least remove the lower slash pan and look up in between the condensor and radiator to see if there is a buildup of junk in there. Temp issues on these car are far more severe than our piston brothers. They can just swap head gaskets but we need rebuilds. So watch that temp guage like a hawk, and don't try and make it to the nearest gas station if it start climbing. A lil walking couldn't hurt.
