My new project car '82 Mariah Mode One

Here's the juicy details.
1982 GS stock 12A 98,040 miles
Mariah Mode One wide body kit
600cfm Edelbrock performer series carb (not tuned yet)
Racing Beat intake manifold
Monza? header
no emissions, no AC, manual steering, manual windows

It's pretty trashed... But it runs and I got it for 600 bucks! The interior is all trashed so I already started stripping it. Suspension is completely trashed, feels like all the struts are blown. The OMP is squirting out onto the ground. Clutch master cylinder is leaking out the back and underneath the carpet. Windshield is busted.

I would like to find the person who let the car get to this condition and kick their ***.

I installed new leading plugs and put some fresh gas in to dilute the old 40:1 premix jetski gas that I put in it (yes I did), and she started right up. Drove her around the block and now the speedometer mysteriously doesn't work. I go to turn the headlights off and the dash lights go dim and then blow a fuse... replace the fuse and hear a pop, one headlight goes up, no running lights. Turns out the wiring harness for the left front running light is tangled and wrapped several times around the headlight arm, and had popped the arm off the pivot and cut through the wiring harness. HAHAHA!!! bitch.

On a positive note, I have located some TII seats to replace the trashed seats in the car.

Maybe I'm just retarded but the OMP flange is not the exact same shape as the block off plate that Mazdatrix sent me. Is that normal? I double checked the part numbers.

Does anyone know if I can get the clutch hydraulic hard line from Mazda?

Eh... suspension, engine, a little body work and some paint. No show car but maybe a mean street bruiser. Check out my suspension build up here https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generation-specific-1979-1985-18/my-turn-my-suspension-build-up-thread-723539/

Wow, she's a little beat up and worse for wear... but that is what you would definetly call "potential"

Keep up the great work!

Yea love that Alternator.. what is that?

Just realized it's original color is red.. cool. You can see the spots under the back window seal and door area.

That alternator came on the car, don't know what it's from.

Actually the original color is brilliant black from the paint code on the firewall. Someone painted it red and then black again. It will get another fresh coat of black when it's ready.

600 was a steal with the kit and wheels alone, even if it didn't have a drivetrain. The wheels look similiar to the Almex ones the kgray has, but they aren't the same. What size are they, including tire size?

She runs slooww, there's no power, needs tuning badly. I'm rebuilding the suspension right now. As soon as she's back on the ground I'm gonna tune that edelbrock. I already blocked off the OMP, it wasn't hooked up to anything just squirting on the ground.

The wheels are 14 inchers, but I haven't measured the width or backspacing yet. Tires are 215's in the front and 235 in the rear. The wheels appear to not be originally 4x110, they look like the lug holes have been widened to fit. There is no manufacturer markings at all.

Well that is the Mariah Flying Whaletail. It's the proper wing for the Mariah wide body, and supposedly pretty rare. Not to mention they cost like 400+ bucks when new. So based on those reasons it might stay on. I was pretty shocked by it at first also, but it's starting to grow on me.

You, youngin', have no taste. That wing, which is the same one I have on my widebody, is period correct for both the kit and the era. They sold for $436 new and are NLA. They are already getting hard to find.

Impulsive, if the lug holes have been widened, chances are they were the 4X108 Ford bolt pattern. If that's the case, I hope you're using shank nuts since the rims are most likely bolt centric and not hub centric.
