Trailer queen or ***** to the wall rough monster?

So how do you prefer your 1st gens? I like an in between 1st gen. Very clean, civilized yet still can get up and go (autox style). Nothing monsterous that will leave your ***** back about 2 miles from the stating line lol. I know i have met some people that don't give a crap about looks and only performance but i have met others that love trailer queens only. So what do you guys prefer?

I prefer the nice mix.

It is my firm beleif that you can tell alot about a person and their personality/state of mind and decision making by just looking at their cars.

People with their cars gutted and piped for racing are often that same personality type. Think about it, its kind of neat.

"GO" first, then "show". Then a little more "go". But eventually you need to get both done. If you don't care about one or the other, you're not a car guy.

all GO = redneck
all show= homosexual who like "pretty" things (also see: riceboy)

I prefer a clean looking ride with subtle details but a nice blend of a well tuned NA motor and a decent semi-stiff suspension. I'm thinking of having the mirrors moved up to the front fenders to get that Japanese look. I've always liked that style.

A clean car is nice, but I prefer old cars that have "battle scars".

I prefer the stock look, with the go underneath. It doesn't have to look perfect on the outside, but it has to be in good shape.

I have more respect for the cars that have been built with the thought of the cars balance than the car that leans one way or another. How tune the suspension is to the power the car has, sort of thing. Its never been of particular importance as to what the car looks like. Let's face it, FB's are quite an acquired taste, but nearly everyone agrees on the beauty of the FD.

I like the stock look but with a Semi Monster underneath.
I've got a N/A but streetported big carb and full RB exhaust and some mean suspension.
SO I go mix, but she does look good clean, and can go if she needs to!

I like streetable cars.

You can have a show car or dyno queen, but just to have fun.

To go to work I dont want a 3 puck clutch or a suspension from hell.

I wanna be able to go to work in my 7

I tend to go to extremes with almost everything I do. I got a good deal on my '7 and planned on DD it, but I've put about twenty times it's resale value back into it already and 95% of that's been suspension upgrades. I'm torn between deciding what to do next-rebuild the 13b from my SE or put a down payment on a house.

To make a long story short, I usually end up driving almost "unstreetable" cars on the street because I can stand the rough suspension, the roar of the engine, and all the other perks that draw attention to me while I'm in it. You definately have to balance it out though, even if you're idea of "show" is a black-primered body...

it all depends on what you want to use the car for?

my SA will be nice, clean, and stock"ish" looking. the only body mods itll get is a CF hood, fender flares, and some sort of nice front end. itll have about 300rwhp. that way its good for a street car and can still kick ***. thats doesnt even take into consideration the suspension mods.

id also like to own a mostly stock SE and a raced out 7(spec7 or IT7)

It must be streetable. Track-only cars seem a little too... artificial to me. It has to look presentable, but beyond that it doesn't really matter. In fact, if it looks too nice I'd be afraid to work on it, and I don't want to spend a bunch of money on things that won't improve my performance. I don't mind a firm ride, but I don't want it to wear me out while driving it, either. I've been getting a little tired of really loud exhausts, so the next one I build will be a little more tame (but still quite audible). A nice interior is very important to me.

I could never own a track car. I've had my share of fights with my girlfriend allready "Whats the point of having a car you can only drive 6 months out of the year?! We live in Canada, Jordan. Snow! SNOW!"

"...But I love her."

"Do you love ME?! We need money to be together."

"But she reeeally needs a TII..."

Can you imagine the fights if it was a track car? "Whats the point of having a car you use 3 times a year and rebuild over the winter?!"

^ That argument happens all the time because a lot of girls don't understand why boys like to play with their toys. If that argument happens again, ask why she buys shoes/purses/belts/whatever for $200 a pop and only wears them once.

I'd love to use that argument, however she's as simple as they come x.x . Although I suppose I could make the argument regarding her Grad dress last year. That was 600 doll-hairs she wore once... 600 beans almost buys my TII!

Technically, owning a 7 is a lot like being married. You have to constantly dump money into it to keep it happy. Altho, no matter how much you do, it'll never shut up.

Haha so true.... Guess i'm lucky... my girlfriend never makes comments like that, she knows what the FB's mean to me and appreciates that...
As for the original question I like a car right in the middle. Clean and somewhat stock looking but more power and suspension that is stiffer than a "normal" driver would like, but not so stiff that its uncomfortable on my drive to work. If you guys have seen the 83 S I'm restoring/building right now thats pretty much my answer

Ahhh it's nice to be posting again LOL. Right in the middle is nice. The S I'm building will be street driven but trailered to the track.

I'm going to clean my car up and wait for my engine to die and hopefully get my hands on that new 16x engine that may be coming out. but until then, i'm happy with 130 hp 13b

I love how mine is now...has taken some time and money!

It's just been debadged and cleaned with newish paint.

The factory lines remain except for the mariah hatch which helps her stand out abit more from the usual crowd.

Also she's got a ton of unseen mods to the average person, a modded 13BT, and runs 11 seconds for the quarter all day long...

I'm just putting the stereo in now and then i'm done modding her...........until something inevitably breaks, as per rotor tradition!

Cam...

I prefer cars that are a total package. Equal time and thought going into the body, engine, suspension, and interior.
My car has a mild ported 12A, yet I still have the AC and cruise hooked up and functional.
The suspension has been upgraded, but not to the point ride quality is degraded.
The interior has been redone, but the changes are subtle.
On the outside, decent paint, custom wheels, tinted windows, and a lowered stance give it the look I want, while the rest of the car delivers the overall performance I want. It has also been a very reliable car, that delivers 20MPG on a regular basis.
It's not a trailer queen, but is capable of winning an award at a show.
It's not a full out racecar, but it's capable of winning it's class at an autox.
I have done both of the above, within a couple weeks time.
