Megasquirt IT RUNS!! then dies :( ....
IT RUNS!! then dies :( ....
so i finally got the ms installed into my stock s5 vert. i did so using a home built plug and play harness. so i plug it in and look over all my settings and when i was satisfied at started it.
it started first try! reved just a little (about 1200 rpm) then died.
i went thru steps to get it running properly. I first adjusted the req_fuel up until it would run without dieing. at req_fuel = 15 it ran long enough to warm the engine up completely. then i tried to adjust the ve tables to account for the inccorrect req_fuel. this however was no good.
now it starts and revs to 1200 rpm then lowers gradually to about 900 then it starts to climb back up and dies when it hits 1100 rpm.
I cant figure it out, and have spent all day jacking with it. any ideas about what could be wrong.
also does anyone have a good base map for a stock s5 na? please let me know. thanks alot.

ol by the way, my lamda sensor is reading at like 10.3 for the short amount of time that its running!. i dont know how accurate the reading is, considering it only runs for about 15 secs before terminating
here is a log of the car starting and dieing at 900 rpms i beleive. i think the match line(blue line) is @ the point of highest rpm. just before it reaches the highest rpm the injector duty cycle starts to drop.. dont know if that helps

ok. why is it that you think that? i thought the same thing at first, but megatune says its staying on. i havent physically checked the voltage at the pump because i dont want to rip my vert apart to get to the pump. i will if i have to tho. so MS says its giving the signal and i know the relay and pump function because when i plug the stock ecu back in it runs fine. i guess i could have screwed up the pinout of my plug'n'play adapter, so something else is turning the fuel pump.
even that doesnt make much sense. i was able to get it to run for some time(long enough to warm up) by increasing req_fuel.

ok. i think your correct. but i dont know how to remedy it. here is what i have:
the red circle indicates where i connected megasquirts pin 37 to. this does not work.
i then tried to connect 12v power to the blue circle to energize the open circuit relay when the key is in the "on" postition. this did not work. this caused the starter to turn when the key was in the "on" position.
i think that if i connect the green circle and red circle to the MS pin 37 then this should control the fuel pump when the ignition is in the "on" position.
the big question is will the fp relay circuit in the megasquirt be able to control both relays at the same time?

ok im stupid.
the fuel pump relay is a "resistor relay" it allows the ecu to drop the voltage to the fuel pump and help fuel economy. the correct place to wire your s5 fuel pump is @ 16 - the green circle. this operates the circuit opening relay.
anyway it now runs!!
