i need IMMEDIATE help.....i did something wrong to my FC

the other day i had a post about my squirrel type 89-91 driver seatbelt deciding to stop working.

the graphite cable was sticking out and in was a huge mess. anyway i tried moving it back and i was able to stuff the cable back in, but then once i opened the door the squirrel moved again and the cable popped back out.

i have NO IDEA how long it is going to take mazda to fix it for me.....so in the meanwhile i cut the cable so that i could move the squirrel all the way back and manually buckle my seatbelt in each time.

well i thought i had it good but now once i start the car and when driving the seatbelt mechanism just clicks over and over and over.......

it clicks once every second and DOES NOT STOP. i need to have a way to disable this because what was left of the cable is now down inside the panel and just clicks.

is there a way to COMPLETELY disable the mechanisms? like unplug something so they wont move when i open a door or start the car??

Open the emergency crank plate and disconnect the wire for it. The motor won't function now.

It's just behind the seat on the wall, 2x2" sqaure plate. Behind it are some wires that are clipped together, separate them

I did the same thing. So I gave up, cut the f'ing cable, manually moved the squirell back, and started saving for harnesses!! My seatbelt light now never goes off, though. And yes, the belt still locks up normally under hard braking!! I would not recomend doing this however, as now, I can never get the belts fixed from Mazda for free. You do realize that your car may fit under a 1991 recall for those things, right? Call your local Mazda dealer, and see if you qualify for a FREE repair!!

you dont unplug the light.
replace the broken seatbelt and it goes out.

Mazda HAS to do it, and if you call them to tell them that you have the broken belt recall, then they will want to make sure its busted, dont let them make you wait, it only takes a person to look at it for 10 seconds to see this.
then its 3 days for oarts ordering, then its 1 day to install.
you should only be out of your car for a day.

thats 1 day.

Since its only gonna be a temporary thing made just black tape.

Or pop off the idiot light bezel, unscrew the idiot light panel, unplug the panel, pop out that light bulb.

They MUST do it. Mazda extended the recal to "The life of the vehicle."

http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/proble...alls/Index.cfm

Go there and click vehicle etc.. you can get all the details. If the local dealership is being a bitch, contact Mazda Corporate or Customer Service.
