How much can i sell my car for.

I'm trying to figure out how much i can sell my car for, whats the maximum you thimk i can get for it....please help me out. Its a 87 N/A SE, it has Decent paint, and new brakes, body is in pretty good shape except for the bottom of the right front bumper has a dent but thats easy to fix. And one little dent on the left rear corner panel. The car has 174,000 miles but has a recently rebuilt engine. The car runs awesome and drives great. Starts right up everytime, No smoke. New plugs and wires. Interior is not so great, seats are ripped but i have seat covers, and theres no trim around the radio and the middle A/C vents. No pics though. What you guys think i can get for it if i list it on autotrader. I was thinking of listing it for 2000.00 and take the best offer.

It's a NA. You'll be lucky to get $1000 for it, and probably won't see north of $500, if anyone's even interested in it - it has no turbo, so it's value is as scrap metal.

</bitterly annoyed about the value of NAs>

Has it always been a florida car? I wonder how it looks... $500-2000 depending.

It has always been a florida car. The paint is almost as shiny as the car at the top here. But just some inperfections. Like i said the car has very mino body damage. Just the right fron bumber on the bottom. Interior has the most issues. I had a guy offer me 1300 the other day for it and thats whats got my suspicions arroused.

where are the pics?

here are your talking points:

1. S4's are the lightest FCs
2. newly rebuilt motor (specify milieage)
3. Good on insurance because it is a non-turbo
4. ready for TII swap
5. good paint

then post PICTURES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck. Without seeing it I cannot estimate value.

Yea, i dont have the pics. I dont have a digital camera either...thats why i tried to give as much specifics as possible. I think im just gonna list it for 2000 dollars and take the best offer, even if its just 500.00. But i know i can atleast get 1500.00 for her.

The motor has almost 20,000 miles on it since rebuilt, ive been driving the hell out of it. IT starts right up, even hot. Has had no flooding issues at all.

if it runs, has decent body and doesn't smoke I'd give you at least $1500 without seeing it. Try your best to take pics (even if it's 35mm that you go to a store and put on CD) because no one will buy without seeing it. Especially with som many rotaries out there in "great shape" that end up having low compression or blown coolant seals.

everything was sounding about right until the interior but a rebuild motor is definately a plus ... I'd also say around $1500... good luck with your sale

Yeah $1500 sound like a good price IF you have the paperwork for the engine rebuild. Series 4 Base non-turbos are so common they aren't worth much.

value is all in the eye of the buyer. I would not hesitate to buy an S4 because I know they're lighter, the parts were sturdier (s5 used plastics and crap that breaks easily), and the mechanical differences between an S4 and S5 are minimal enough to not devalue it.

IF i were to look at it from a cosmetic pov: it's not as "pretty" as the S5. BUt that isn't that big of a deal, unless you're just buying a car for its aesthetics (in which case, the 7 isn't for you, mainly because you'll focus on making it prettier and not maintenance required for the car to run right for longer than a month.)

The value IS what it IS.

The more S4 N/As out there, the cheaper they are going to be. S5s are quite a bit rarer and generally kept in better shape. I've seen many S4 N/As in the junkyard. They seem to be just a cheap car to get someone around for awhile until something goes wrong and it goes to the scrapyard. I would love to find a S5 to pick over at a junkyard! It seems you are bashing the series 5?

S5s have been revised and updated, the later models of almost all cars are always better.

S5 don't have the flooding problems of the S4. Why? The ECU was updated and the processing speed doubled, which makes better engine management. The plastics on all 20ish year old cars are all going to be brittle. The S5 stereo surround is the only item that broke on my S4 vert. While, the steering column covers are the only broken pieces on both S5 cars I've owned. The mechanicals are better too. Lighter rotors, higher compression ratios, higher redline on the N/A, electronic and bigger wastegate and OMP, airpump actuated 5th/6th ports.

The only thing the S4 has going for it over a S5 is the lighter weight. It was a pretty drastic weight increase too.

The S5s are better cars, and not just from a aesthetic point of view.
