Advice on turbo rebuild

Ok, I have two center housings, each with something potentially wrong with it. The first one I know leaked a lot of oil into the turbine and has a little bit of scoring and wear on the turbine side near where the turbine shaft ring would go, but overall it looks newer and less used than the second center housing. This is the clean one in the pictures, it was soaked in a lot of WD40 overnight, although it wasnt a whole lot dirtier in the first place.

the second one from a turbo I think overheated. I found a bit of burnt oil inside, it had a badly cracked exhaust housing and some discoloration throughout the center housing. However, it doesnt seem to have warped, and didnt seem to leak oil in the hour or so I ran it. This is the messy one, you can see the discoloration in some of the pictures.

I have a stock turbine housing and wheel, and a T04B compressor housing and wheel that will be going in one of these, as well as a new rebuild kit with all the seals etc. I just wanted your opinion on which center housing I should build up. Thanks!

Ok, im pretty sure that I'll be cleaning up the dirty one today and rebuilding that center section, since I am worried about oil leaking past the turbine piston ring through that scoring and wear on the clean one.

When taking apart the clean one, there were two heat shields between the turbine fan and the center housing, one inside the other. The dirty one only had one. Which is correct, and will using two affect anything? Thanks!

If you are building a hybrid, keep this thread with a how to and all parts used so nobody will ask how anymore. Sticky FTW!!

well, i was kinda looking for info on which center housing was better, not about doing a hyrbid write-up (since one of them came pre-hybridized, i just disassembled it to rebuild), but I could document the re-assembly process if desired.
