4rotores , you might try posting in the 20B section. Someone there might be more adequately prepared to relieve you of your project than here. We're all first gen here.

The shaft is done. The intermediate plates have been modded to accept stationary gears. I think he's making the counterweights today. He just needed to know the weight in grams.

There was some concern on the rotor weights but I assured him that we'll dynamically balance them before assembly. Therefore the counterweights can be made with a general weight, such as that posted on Mazdatrix' website in the rotor weight and compression chart.

Hey Viking, that dual 12A is pretty cool. My friend has a plate and a coupler thing for two 4 port 13Bs. The whole contraption will be longer than the dual 12A, and not just due to the longer rotors. It's essentially a less elegant solution than the ausrotory one. Of course the 'ghetto' 4 rotor build we're doing in this thread will result in the shortest engine possible with 12A parts and some intermediate plates.

So there.

He said he needs the actual weight of the rotors before he can proceed. Now we're on the hunt for four good '83-'85 rotors. Two fronts and two rears.

This is a fantastic thread

Out of interest how does the oil get into the rotors ?? Is is passed down through the shaft or done further out ? If it goes down the shaft has the splined portion been bored out, looks just like a center. Very beautiful piece of engineering. Wish I was as adventurous.

Can't wait to see the engine running

Jeff, this is an amazing project! I'm eager to follow your progress.. moving fast already! Keep it up!

Will you be running fuel from Megasquirt or alternative, or carb?

Cheers,

Paul.
