You can remove the leather handle from the inside of the door panel.

Are you just trying to remove paint from the panels?

My suggestion is to find a local hobby store (one that sells models, RC cars/planes/boats). They will have a product called ELO (Easy Lift Off). Its made to remove paint from plastic surfaces.

All you do is rub some on the painted surface and let it sit over night. Then wash in some warm soapy water with a 3M scrubbing pad.

I would still go get some ELO. That stuff is so easy its not even funny.

Here are some old shots of mine:

Here's a close up I took to show someone the CEL; but you can see the metal flakes in the paint. Makes it look like it has a rough texture but its not:

ELO is about $10:

Yes, the A/C panel was taken apart. The dial covers were removed and then glued back when I was done painting.

Here's the info on the paint used:

Hi, sorry to hijack but will this ELO stuff remove any type of paint. The dumbass i bought the car from painted the pass interior door handle and it looks hella ugly. painted over the leather grip area too. I need to find a way to strip the paint off but i'm guessing whatever i do the black plastic will look faded when i am done. any ideas? thanks.

ELO is made to remove paint from plastic. For that, it does an impressive job. The plastic will not look great after the paint has been removed so you'll need to retreat the panels. Whether that's with some plastic dip or another paint job is up to you.
