For all of you with BLOWN GT35r Turbo's! GREAT DEAL!

Garrett is doing a special, I just replaced my GT35r.

Call any Garrett authorized rebuilder. As long as the center cartridge and 1 wheel is good, they can give you a whole CHRA (everything except the housings) for $400.

Meaning you have a blown exhaust wheel from an apex seal, or a jacked up compressor wheel from a rock... as long as one wheel is good, and the center cartridge can be rebuilt you are fine!

I just got mine swapped out for a brand new one for $400 via www.turbosdirect.com

It had a chipped exhaust wheel.

Before:

After:

You can't beat $400 for a BRAND NEW turbo.

Enjoy!

That is an excellent price, last time I checked, they wanted close to $1000 for the CHRA, so I bought a whole new turbo for $1100. So now I have a spare CHRA with turbine wheel damage, with brand new turbine and compressor housings sitting on the shelf. I think I may jump on this and have a complete new turbo for a backup.

Yeah it's an awesome deal. Garrett is only offering it for the GT35r.

When I spoke with Garrett in January they did not say "limited time" - it sounded to me like they had no plans in canceling it anytime soon. I'd figure it would go a minimum of 6 months or a year. But could be a long term thing.

The 500R is a 35R center section, I know this for a fact. However the compressor wheel gets swapped for a slightly larger one.

I'm sure its A-Spec's trade secrete as to what wheel is on there. You may want to send the turbo to Sean and have him send it to Garrett to protect Seans investent in his 500R turbo systems. Make sure to check with him before you start shipping it off though. BTW, why doessn't anyone use the damn phone anymore.... its a hella lot faster then waiting for responses through email a/ PM's

Your PM has been answered It shows you sent it yesterday, the funny thing is even at 3am this morning I hadn't recieved it. (Yes I was up at 3am.) It was however there when I came in this morning. If you tried calling yesterday we were actually closed so we missed that call. Just so it's clear this is a garrett program not any one shops program. So any Garrett MD or Performance house should be able to handle it if willing. RacerXtreme7 thanks for the support As for trade secrets, Most of the info is out there. It has been made very clear I use a 35R CHRA and modify the wheels.

I was going to say, I don't think there are any huge secrets being divulged here, you certainly didn't go to any great lengths to make it a secret considering the ID tag is left on the CHRA. If this was supposed to be a secret it is easy enough to remove....

I was just making a point that the 500R should fall into the same category as the others listed for the repair price.

LOL, I wasn't taking offense to anything. Just stating facts. Hope no harm was done. After talking to a garrett rep yesterday I guess there is a big issue between Garrett and it's distributors as to how these will be handled as of yet.

It's called the "ball bearing program" or something like that. I know it has the phrase ball bearing. You might be able to get it. Call a Garrett authorized dealer...
