Other than street and drag racing, what class do you all race in? eg. SCCA, ITS, road racing, etc.

SCCA Solo II autocross would go straight to EM or E-Modified.
It's banned from everything else SCCA has.

I kinda have the same problem with the turbocharged 20B. I can race in SCCA SPO (Super Production - Over 2000cc), so I would imagine that the V-8 conversions could also race in that class. This is a regional class, and may not be available in all areas, and the rules may also be different for different areas.

here's a V8-converted, E-mod 1st-gen:

as you can see, the rules allow/require quite a bit of modification I wonder if it would be street-legal, if the driver wore a full-face helmet/put street-legal tires/wheels on it?

Correct, for SCCA Club racing, it would be SPO. ITE is another class you could try (not sure of the exact rules there, but it's a catch all class, so you should be ok). In NASA, you'd run Super Unlimited.
