rebuild shops in washington

so i've had my 91 for about two years + she'd racked up a ton of miles. never had a rebuild + its about that time. i don't think my mom would enjoy my car being on blocks for a while as my dad + i worked on it (thats the only place i can work on it) that + whenever i work on my car, something seems to go wrong with it. so, i was wondering if there were any shops that i could drive to, have them take out the engine to rebuild + port, then have them put it back in. anyone have any places that they've had experience with? i know that atkins is a good place, but they won't take it out + put it back in for me. any help is appreciated. thanks oh yeah. i live in everett

You might try this place. He specializes in Mazdas. I've only had them replace the clutch in my 82. You might give them a shout and ask them. They are in Kent.

5k? That seems a little high... was that including install and removal? Mark at Mt Peak auto is another... I have only heard great things from him...

yeah, lopi knows his stuff.
and he is a great person to talk to. you will be overloaded with info. another great thing (yet not so great money wise) is he won't put questionable parts into the engine. good luck with your quest.

Give Andy ( Mazda Tec) a call he's been building engines for as long as lopy and he's a bit closer.. Lopy is a great guy so this is not a negative post his way.

jesus for those prices pull it out yourself and send it to RR. 3.1k and 5k? Assuming your engine isn't torn up inside, you're probably looking at about 2k including shipping if RR does it. It really isn't hard to pull the engine, with 2 people you could have it done in a day no prob. I know you said you didn't want to do the work yourself but man, that is a price difference for sure.

yeah. i'd really love to rebuild my engine. but like anything else, time isn't on my side. nor is my mother. i know my dad would love to help me out as well, but she rules the house, so she has final say. that + whenever i do anything to my car at all, the neighbors in my apartment complain :/ ********....
