Car Stereo Fitment for 79
Car Stereo Fitment for 79
Has anyone recently installed a car stereo CD player/radio in their SA?
I've gone online to Circuit City, Crutchfield and Best Buy to search for different brands and costs, but can't identify a car stereo type that will fit my 1979 RX-7.
Just wondering if anyone has any advice.
I have an Alpine radio with cassette player and I am going insane.
Thanks.

I have a 1980 model. I had to grind the metal bracing that was holding the
old junker radio. I also had to modify the heater control levrs/bracketry.
Took a lot of hours but it turned out nice. Get ready to spend some time
and good luck

Nothing on the market will boolt in directly for your SA - like paulied3 sez, you'll need to do some
surgery
No going back tho once you've chopped her!! I kept mine stock and use my iPod Nano with a transmitter accessory that pumps tunes thru the car's (upgraded) speakers. No muss, sounds great, keeps your baby stock- besides, your Alpine cassette deck is really old-school anyway...
