looking for shop

I'm looking for a shop to work on my car. It s a stock T II and all I really need done is the idle smoothed out and some hesitation/rough acceleration fixed. The motor has been rebuilt so that is good and the problems are all that bad but i would rather not take it to get smogged until I get that fixed.

Anyway looking for a good shop in the modesto area.

If you don't find anything in Mo-town then let me know and you can bring the car up to Sacramento to Wolf USA. That's where Hector got his FD tuned not too long ago if you want to talk to him about Chris.

You could also drive a bit farther north and take it to Rotary Evolution. Either way your car will get sorted out in no time. Just post in here if you can't find anyone down there to help you out.

well if I do go up north i ll probably go by Rotary Evolution as karack is the one who rebuilt my motor haha. Just kind of hoping someone had a shop down here but most of the shops i find i really don t trust. specially when they say I have a stuck valve and I need a rebuild... they got half of it right at least.

Hey, it might be a fairly long drive but at least you can trust the guy doing the work and you know that it will be done right.

Dave, you grew up in Modesto? That explains A LOT!

how many miles did you get on it so far and did you pull the main cat to see if it imploded?

i had hoped it was just something simple that would clear itself up since nothing seems to be diagnostically wrong with the car, damn rotaries...

I hate that word!! I refuse to ever say hella. And everytime one of the kids that works for me says it I cringe.

omg i forgot about my own thread lol. Anyway got 780 on it right now. The main cat was replaced with a highflow bonez. Right now it runs really crappy when cold but once its warm (like sitting mid range for a little while) it runs fine. ARG!! going to smog it today finally hahaha hopefully it passes. if it doesn t clear up i ll probably bring it back up again. T_T I rather have u fix it because well... take me too long... actually if it does pass smog I ll probably go ahead and fix it myself.

On a another note you said something about the trailing being a little off spec but u weren t sure, would that cause poor cold running conditions?

err but yeah karack gets a cookie for rebuilding my rotors muahaha

Go to Rick's Rotary in Pleasanton. It's only about 50 mins from Modesto. Where do you live in Mo-town? I just moved back and it'd be cool to kick it with another rotary fan.
