to all you high hp & single turbo guys

any of you have problems with traction?

and does the car scare you everytime you drive it?

last night i had a run in with a 350Z TT and had a bad launch. the tires kept spinning bad! (brand new tires too) launched around 6K

Um.... put on bigger, stickier tires? Get DRs?

Cant FDs handle 265s out back with stock fenders, and proper offset/spacers? Go get some!

And what tires are you using now?

You can get up to 315's without fender flares if you want to be creative. Otherwise 285's are easily doable.

well i use 2 launch at 4.5 5grand and slip it out with my street disk.. but with my newly installed 6puck and extreme pressure plate it doesnt slip much so i stick to dropping it softly around 4grand.... regardless of launch on street tires if you dont feather it alot your gonna spin all of first and most of 2nd.. the next thing i buy for my car will be dr's or et streets

You won't have to worry about tire spin in a month or two.

Why??

Because, your single turbo set up is gonna eat your clutch.
and you won't spin tires as much.

Don't ask how I know.. = )

Run them from a roll and you'll have better luck.
I have 265's on the back and it will cut loose pretty much through 3rd. It does not scare you if you just keep the wheel straight. If it starts to go to far sideways then let off the gas.

Thats about how mine is now. Im getting my halfbridge back in about a month with my T78. I should make over 500whp im hoping. Then with the water injection i can run higher boost, and get close to 600hp. I just cant wait to hear the BRAP BRAP!

/\ at first it was wierd. but after i installed the resonator on the midpipe it isnt that loud as you think. Youll get a lot of eye poping because of your idle but im kool with it.

BTW iceman you did your halfbridge project before i did. Whats the holdup?

...insurance company is the damn holdup. My car has been gone for 8 months now. I have been battling them for the whole time. They dont want to pay for ****. I have everything covered by them except my single turbo. I had it rebuilt 2 weeks before a lady hit me, now the turbo squirts oil and the insurance company doesnt think its "accident related" so im going to just cover the turbo myself. I have to call Jason at the rx7 store to see if the turbo is done yet. I just need the turbo and a tune and its done!!

your stock fuel lines will do fine, I have a customer/friend who has made 513whp with stock fuel lines and one 044 pump.

/\ thanks for the advise.
yesterday i ran this blue srt4 neon that had around 435hp
http://www.southfloridaracing.com/

and the funny thing is that i have around 50hp less and i beat him by 4cars in 4th gear. dunno how but it happened.

a little tip (some of you might know) but starting in 2nd gear really helps on a roll. usually in 3rd it takes a second for it to spool but when starting in 2nd your around 5-6000rpm & as soon as you hit the gas, bam instant spool. the only downside is you have to shift eariler (within 2-3seconds)
