sway bars, mix and match?
sway bars, mix and match?
Wel i've been reading the forums quite awhile on sway bars. A lot of people go with RB sway bars, there doesn't seem to be much going with Tanabe bars. So i decided to go call Tripoint and got priced just under $800 for there front and rear kit. My real question is should i go with there whole kit or should i mix and match for a better setup. I ordered my Stance coilovers yesterday, and now i'm having frustrations finding a swaybar set-up. I'm at least trying to get 1G in the corners. I'm going to try to get to as many track as i can this summer. Thanks for all the help, it's much appreciated.
P.S.
Also, if anyone knows where i can get BBS RK's that are 18x10 in the rear (the only offset i've found is 20, and i'm pretty sure there is no chance in hell those will fit even with coilovers).

There are way to many variables to give you a "go with 'X' or 'Y' " answer. When sway bars are designed they always have spring rates in mind for the springs on the car. If you don't have those rates, you are taking a chance any way you go. Then if you have changed the weight of your car by removing stuff or adding stuff those rates they picked won't be right, close but not optimal.
The two schools of thought are soft springs(maybe stock!) and huge sway bars, or, stiff springs and soft bars. Either set-up has its place and both will work. Some places one has an advantage over the other.
The short answer would be you can mix and match. I would find out what the diameter is of the bars you are comparing then if they both mount in the same place you are close to an apples to apples situation. Bigger dia. will be stiffer for you.
You can make a 5/8" bar 'stiffer' than a 1" bar by having a shorter lever arm. Whatever you buy make sure at least one of the bars (fr or rr) is adjustable. That way you can fine tune things a little for how you like to drive.

tripoint is f and r adjustable and is the best buy if you can afford it. Im running a rear racing beat with a stock front bar and I am very pleased as I achieved the effect I wanted, but againt there are so many variables its hard to say what will do the trick for you individual taste and setup.
