Buyer Backed Out???

Just wanted to clarify a few things. Seller represents his car very well in his description. I was the guy that agreed to buy his vehicle. Upon arriving at his friends house to complete the deal with funds in hand, I realized that he had not registered the car in Colorado so the title was still in the previous owners name with him signing on the back. This is not a legal way to do a transfer of ownership of a vehicle.

After "patiently" waiting 2 months calling him and his contact here in colorado I kept getting the run around. Im sorry but I WAS and upstanding buyer and after agreeing to purchase a vehicle for 3 months I dunno why I figured that was long enough for the deal to come to a conclusion.

Im not writing this to warn a potential buyer but more to clarify what you said Cody. Buyer did not back out. Seller did. I waited for many weeks with the cashiers check just gathering dust. That being said its kinda weird... it turns out I pretty much owe you my life. A story goes a long with what I just said.

About two weeks after I notified you that I would not be waiting anymore to purchase your vehicle I was involved in a terrible accident. I was on my way home from work in Denver at about 11:15 on a friday night. I came up over a hill by Flatirons Mall on US36 in the left lane going about 75 mph. In a split second I impacted a car that was traveling the wrong way with no lights on down the highway at 75mph. After I slid to a hault on my side a passerby helped me kick the windshield out of my 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I crawled out unscratched. The seatbelt and airbag saved my life.

Anyway I don't know why but thank you for the delay in the deal. Thank you for not having it registered. If the deal would have gone through I would not be here today due to the sheer size of a 3rd gen and the impact. Needless to say Im no longer in the market for a 3rd Gen atm. I bought another Jeep Grande Cherokee cause the older one saved my life.

Anyway I wouldnt be wary of the seller he represents the vehicle very well. Just make sure hes got it registered in his name before you agree to buy it!

Thanks again

Holy **** Dave, glad to hear you are ok man.

As far as the FD goes, it is re-registered, and I put my Dad on the new title as a co-owner, so If im in GA and cant make it home he can sell the car. Dave just got the shitty end of the stick cause I had just got home from Iraq, and unfortunately completeled neglected that I hadnt registered and titled the car in August of '05. Sorry I kept you waiting so long man, the hilarity of it all is, Colorado DMV finally got back to on the friday of the wk you backed out, and notified me that the new title had been mailed. So you missed out on the 3rd gen by a few days, but it sounds as though thats a good thing......

Glad you are ok again Dave.
