Great Loooking ride! The TII I just bought is what your origional color was, and I was thinking about keeping it that way, but that black paint makes the car look hot.

how much did the paint set you back? And tell me how far you went with it (ie. how far in the door jambs, under the hood, new weatherstripping and shtuff). I am lookin to paint my poor 10ae, and I wanna know how much it will set me back. I plan on spending a great deal (like $2000), but I want it to look as close to showroom as possible.

well i had macco do it, and if you get the more expensive job ive been told its real good but people get the chepo and it gets a bad name.
granted im taking my car up there soon cuz they messed up and its flaking on the wing a little and the drivers headlight cover. but they did the jams and satin bombed the under hood(which looks amazing) and so on.
its not too expensive, but id go to a mom and pop shop, youll spend 1000 easy but it'll be perfect.

How did you fix the damage to the rear left quarter panel? It looks good. I have the same damage on my rear quarter panel.

it pulled almost all the way out, the pic hides it well it was 10x worse. but pull it and get a good bodyman to bondo it (for the warrentee) so if it bubbles or falls out he pays for it.

thanks for info. Very nice! I think yours came out beautifully, and I hope for good results myself. Unfortunately, I too have the rear quarter panel dent, as well as a dent in the drivers side fender (not the bad one that I always see, but towards where the fender meets the front facial), and my hood has a small dent in the hoodscoop. Also I need a new sunroof (its rusted to hell) and the hatch (the ominous rust spot). So all in all i need a lot done to restore the body. Anyway, props, and the best of luck on the turbo engine!

thx. id just replace the fender, you dont need to take off the bumper like people say. i did both of mine with out it. get one and us it to find the bolts and the scoop they can bondo real cheap. sunroofs easy just like 4 bolts and can be done still on, and just replace the hatch. all in all the stuff i told you to replace, if you hunt for shouldnt cost more than like 80-120 tops. look for good deals, and remember white hides alot. so it'll look better than you think guarenteed

---looks nice

I got my car painted at earl scheib with one of the mid range packages. It looked great at first, had to take it back 3 times because they refused to do a good job. When I got it back the third time it looked great and I loved it for 2 years. Then it bubbled and somehow that isnt covered by their 3 year warantee.

I dont know if macoo is any better then earl scheib about that stuff but just be carefull if you decide to get a cheap paint job

Talking

Is it wrong that I like the first pics better than the last? :P

I don't know, I don't like whatever you did to the FTP lights and I would have kept the smoked tails with that black setup. Also it looks really tall... consider getting a good set of lowering springs.

Just my .02 - not bad and as long as you're happy with it, that's all that matters.

EDIT: Also I liked it better without the wing.

i think the wing looks better with different colors personally, black white and red need one but champain silver and blue dont
i also opted to remove the tint, i think it would have been too much black, besides im going to do it the right way once i get my emblems chromed, not just glue tint to it. and the springs are in the works. i was gonna get em this week, but i found out i owe uncle sam 700 and some odd bucks, so theyll have to wait. i also really need new tires the pics dont show it but i do...
